Samsung Wave Y - Endless grief trying to use as a test device

Hello!

I am using the Basic4Android trial.
I really like the product, BUT.
It's a royal pain in the bottomline to try and install B4Bridge on a Samsung Wave Y! :sign0085:
How on earth am I supposed to do that?

Google Play is unusable.
Samsung Apps does not have the application.
There is no way I could find to tell the dam
phone that, no, I do not want T9 but I'd rather
finger words on my own cause it doesn't have the foggiest
clue what I am looking for!

Can you tell I am distressed?
Please help.

Regards,

A

Do you have a micro SD card?

If so and you have an adapter that can connect to your PC you can load the apk from the PC onto the memory card, place it in the phone and then connect via WiFi or set the phone to be a tether and connect your PC to the phone via WiFi

If you have the USB cable that connects your phone to the PC then you do not have to use the Bridge - you just need to ensure that you have the ADB driver and B4A will connect to your phone without the Bridge. This is actually an easier way to do it.

If you are going to develop even ONE application you should definitely purchase as it is worth much more than we pay for it!

According to a certain famous search engine the Samsung Wave Y is not an Android phone but instead uses Samsungs own OS called bada. Might be why you are having problems. :(

I bought it at a Phones4U outlet, they said it's Android.
This is completely uncharted territory for me, thus I
have to stick to what people tell me.

A quick search onto a famous search engine suggests
that Android and Bada aren't incompatible by all means.

There could be some more work to be done but my
understanding is that Bada is some sort of Android
derivative, which should then be fine.
However, I am a total noob in this kind of
development and I could easily be wrong.

Yes I have a micro-sd card which comes out of the box.
Will have a go at copying it once I get a
proper adapter for myself.

I have tried understanding how to do it from the various
tutorials, but I really have no idea how that's supposed to work :)

I don't need any push into buying it because the very
fact I managed to create an application in 2 days from zero to
actually having something concrete working is a compelling
enough reason.
It's not even a trivial application, but a relatively
complex one, which will be even more so when I get my
hands on the libraries :)

I think you were mis-sold by a spotty oik who didn't know what he is talking about (how unusual for a phone store!). The Android version of that phone is apparently called the Galaxy Y.
