When does it happen?

Are you sure that the IDE uses the correct Java (Java 7+) under Tools - Configure Paths?

It happens after i insert the information (first name etc.) and hit create new it than brings up this dialog:


after i hit ja (yes) it brings up the error message.

I Installed 64 bit Version of jdk and used this path: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_77\bin\javac.exe

Maybe it fails to overwrite the existing files. Change the keys folder to a new folder and try it again.

Got it, i needed to hit set password first and than do all the entries again, did not see that in any of the documentation, sorry for stupid questions ;-)

Set password is only required if you are using an existing key. If it is a new key then it shouldn't be needed.

I had a similar problem. I kept getting the same error "Error creating keystore file". I then did what Thomas did and it worked. I first set the password (the Sign Key window closes), opened the sign key window, entered the details again then clicked "Create New" and it worked.
