Slide Show Transitions

I want to do an automated "slide show" with an imageview. I want one image to "fade out" as the next image is a "fade in". Would I do this with a timer, and how do I control the fades?

To give you an idea, you gonna need:

1- A timer
2- A "fake" panel to fade-in or out (you'll need to modify the ALPHA)

Adjusting the Alpha

Thats what I was thinking. Lay the panel over the image, fade it to black, change the image and the fade the panel back to transparent. But, how do you programmaticlly adjust the Alpha? I don't see Alpha come up in the properties choices when I type in panel1.

Take a look at this sample, tapping on the screen will fade to a different picture.

That's a very basic project but it does the job.
