Hi,

I'm building an Android app with a few controls (views).
I like to place some comboboxes on the Window but because of there is no view like a Combobox I used the Spinner View.
But then I can't enter some text manualy.

What is the best way to simulate a combobox?
Requirements:
1. The user can select/click one of the pre defined textlines
2. Incedently the user must type some manual text

Best regards, Marc

Erel,

Correct me if I wrong,
The auto completeEditText autocompletes to all words in T9-dictionay.
Like Hello, Farm, house and such comon words.

I do need it for i.e, a field for entering a device mark.
The user can select the most common like HP, Dell, Sony, Asus, Lenovo
But if there is an other mark they can type it.
Autocomplete to allwords is than not helpfull

I go read about those views in guide.

Thanks!

Marc, yes I think you are wrong!! The AutoCompleteEditText works slightly differently to the old Combobox, but is more powerful. You can fill it via a SQL query or any other list. You can use FocusChanged, Click and ItemClick events to get the AutoCompleteEditText to behave & respond to however you want it to work.
