Android Question SQLite2 Sample - How to remove Add Button

I have been playing with the SQL2 Sample program. I would like to remove the Add, Filter and Set Filter Buttons from the program. When I tried to do that I get a bunch of errors and the program does not work anymore. How can I remove these buttons and the associated code so that the user can only edit an existing record? Is there an easy way to do this?
