Semen Matusovskiy Well-Known Member Licensed User Oct 9, 2018 #4 Take a look https://www.b4x.com/android/forum/attachments/test-zip.72173/ This app creates small panel in the center of the screen (and you can move it) I don't see problems in API 26 emulator, and in smartphone (API 27) also. DonManfred Expert Licensed User Longtime User Oct 10, 2018 #5 Note: If the app targets API level 23 or higher, the app user must explicitly grant this permission to the app through a permission management screen. The app requests the user's approval by sending an intent with action Settings.ACTION_MANAGE_OVERLAY_PERMISSION. The app can check whether it has this authorization by calling Settings.canDrawOverlays(). Click to expand... Edit to add: The zip posted by @Semen Matusovskiy does support calling the permissionscreen. Upvote 0

Semen Matusovskiy Well-Known Member Licensed User Oct 12, 2018 #7 Where ? There are no problems in emulator ("clean" Android release). Do you talk about your native smartphone ? With custom firmwares all is possible. Many manufactures add settings for "security" reasons. Check phone settings. BTW, SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW is really highly dangerous. For example, allows to create fake web pages over real and to steal passwords etc. Documentation talks Very few apps should use this permission; these windows are intended for system-level interaction with the user.
