Android Question Touch Event Coordinates

The Touch Event has three parameters (Action, X and Y). What are the reference lines/points for X and Y in the touched object. That is, does X = the object's Left property or its Vertical Center or what? For my purposes, I can't accurately move an object without knowing the precise markers for X and Y. Thanks.

The coordinates are relative to the view's upper left corner (0,0).
