Android Question Turn off/on GPS

I know on old Android ver, it was not possible,
but is it possible now? if so how do I implement this code?

If you read more about it, you will see that such "feature" was based on a bug, which means, that it will be fixed and that code won't work.

so is there a way to do it (is the behavior is still the same on 4.x - which you cannot do it)

Android doesn't allow for security reasons to turn the GPS on/off programmatically without notifying the user, the way certain apps are able to do it is because they are using a BUG or EXPLOIT, but it has been fixed (or soon to be fixed) so there's no way to go around it.
