UK Developers?

A reliable, imaginative developer is required, preferably based in the UK. It would be even better if you are based in the east of England. Developers from outside the UK will be considered, but, given previous experiences of attempting RAD-type development in start-ups teams working across time zones, you'll have some convincing to do. The outsourcing of technical development is not an option as we want to build and retain value within the business, so if you're looking for another job for your freelance career or development company, I'm afraid that's no go.

You will be honest, hard-working and reliable and will not see deadlines as things to be broken. That said, you'd resign rather than release a product like Apple Maps. You will want to be part of a US-style start-up targeting the B2B apps market, will work fast and have a hunger to learn. You will get a buzz from solving business problems as quickly and elegantly as possible and will love the responsibility of recruiting and building a world-class technical team. Above all else, you will take real pride in everything you do.

This project is all about building fantastic applications to service a business model to make money. The first aim is to raise angel funding as soon as possible, which requires a great team, a perfect business plan and proof of concept development. Initially, this is likely to be a spare-time role, with share options for targets, but will become a full-time, properly-remunerated role as soon as funding is secured. There may be some flexibility around remuneration but it will be at the expense of some share options, as, sadly, in business you can't have your cake and eat it. In the UK, angels and VCs tend to expect founding team members to work for share options and peanuts, but neither monkeys nor muppets need apply.

Send a CV is you're really interested.

sounds like you want someone to code for free, just sayin

Very happy to clarify that happy to pay, actually. But, wanting someone who wants to be part of a growth business rather than just collect a salary for a job/contract. The simple equation in any company, particularly start-ups, is that the more salary you take the fewer share options you get. Right now I'm not looking for just a salaried employee.
