Android Question Unload Activity

Can anyone give me some advice please? I have an app with many activities. From the main activity I typically load several others in series. When I go back into the app and choose a different activity the previously loaded activities load. I have to press the back key several times to get rid of them. What is considered to be the "best practice" to stop this happening. I've heard that one shouldn't use activity.finish to close them down. Thanks.

You should use Activity.Finish and StartActivity(the activity)
