Heck I was privileged to have seen John Kani and Winston Ntshona on stage in the (um-er-ja-nee) '70s performing a play by Athol Fugard+John Kani+Winston Ntshona : Sizwe Banzi is Dead. I think I also saw Oswald Mtshali doing excepts from his book Sounds of a Cowhide Drum - Imisindo Isigubhu Sesikhumba Senkomo as well ( sometime or other - remembering things from the '70s is difficult - dodging the SB - and so on and so forth).
The Fugard play (also saw one of the very early performances) Boesman and Lena (set in Swartkops on the then edge of PE before Bluewater Bay really emerged; and, "up the road" from New Brighton where Kani was born and near to RedHouse).
kulunga kwam - Mate - you just threw me back into the world of the unspeakable past - including the dark faces of the SB campus ghosts.
