Hello,

For development purposes I am thinking of buying a mac. iMac is too expensive with 27inch monitor, so I saw that there is a new mac mini option in apple store. I think we can connect to any hdmi monitor and it costs half of total imac price. Anyone using the new mac mini or older versions? Are you happy with it?

Thanks

I'm using one I bought November 2018 - 3GHz 6 core, 8GB memory, 256 GB SSD.

Very happy with it; I do most of my day to day work on it, as I've long been a Mac user. (If you're a dev on a Mac, I highly recommend Nova from Panic.com; I love it.)

It runs the Mac Builder just fine; I've not tried booting Windows on it - for the B4X stuff, I have a Surface Laptop 3. The two share a Philips HD monitor via a small HDMI switch.

Also recommended, if you're using more that one system, one of the Logitech mice that supports multiple systems. I use the MX Ergo trackball, and a click of one button switches it between Mac and PC; they have keyboards that do similar.

Thanks for the great recomendations. Especially the mouse is a killer :) Thanks

I would recommend getting one with 16GB ram if you plan on running windows in parallel in a vm.

I have a MacbookPro 13 (2019) with 8GB and only on Monday I was upset again that my laptop was completely overloaded while I was programming until it crashed in the end.

And i would also wait for a mac mini with m1 chip, because the new m1 is a game changer, no matter where it is installed.
