Android Question Writing an almanac library

I wish to write my own almanac library to show a year or a month view and to be able to select a day or an event.
I gather that I need to use Eclipse and write in Java.
Is this nuclear science (which I know) or should I try Java which I don't know?

You can write the library in b4a as a class and then compile it to be a library, no need for java and/or Eclipse !
