It's a one-off US$25 charge - hardly expensive. It costs me AU$149 per year to maintain my Apple developer account & I make far less from those apps than I do from my Android ones.

So, let me see if I understand this correctly: the little apps I've created and installed on my phone... are they going to be deleted from my phone?

Hi, I've already read the link above. They're going to provide an alternative—thank goodness.

I registered my apps, both those distibuted by google play store and those distributed from my website. Very simple process. Had to pay nothing and all the apps work just using the same signature for all. I'll see what will happen in september.

I'm probably missing something but I code mainly for myself and friends, I never publish on Google, I do allow anyone to download from my web site, all apps are free for anyone who wishes to explore, use as they wish, no data is transferred to me or any other external device or person.

So will this style possible? Will the apps already installed on mine or friends phones and tablets be blocked or removed?

Seems every one will soon be controlled, phones, tablets should be personal and people allowed to use as they wish, without breaking any laws obviously.

Looks like big brother is coming, Amazon fire sticks are locking everything down, now Google, cash is being removed from society so soon they'll be able to track everything when you use your credit or debit card, we're doomed, soon we'll be taking a pill every day that controls our mind, no need for robotics, because we'll be turned into them.

On another subject, I've managed to plant all my vegetables early this year, seems global warming as a good side to it

You will need to register with Google Play and go through the verification process. You will not need to distribute the apps through Google Play.

I didn't see any mention of removal of existing apps.

I host my apps on my own server; my customers install them from my server, and updates are downloaded from my server.
I don't have anything on the Google Play Store, and I'm not registered on any of their platforms.
Can I continue working this way?

Could anyone please explain how to register with Google Play even though I don't wish to use it to distribute anything I develop, please

So the “key” is to enable the developer option when you install the app.
I hope you won't have to re-enable it every time an update is released for an app you've already installed.
