Apologies if this has already been clarified.
I have recently been battling with the ACCESS DENIED problem. I saw posts talking about cloud storage services, which I had already realised myself. We have ONEDRIVE. But the problem has been having an over whelming negative impact, so I have persisted and found a solution.
Firstly, this will apply to anyone like myself who take the services that are provided by companies like Microsoft and trust that they know what they are doing. It turns out that B4X and Onedrive don't play nicely together.
The root problem is that, if you do what I do and trust the big companies, Microsoft basically takes over the management of your laptop, with Onedrive becoming the primary storage for everything. And that's where the problem lies.
To get past that, when telling B4X where to store my work, I used BROWSE and went right back to "Windows-SSD(C
". From there I chose "Users" then my directory "my_directory". Next I chose "Documents" then drilled down the obvious path.
By doing that I have deliberately bypassed the Microsoft dictated Onedrive path, and it has worked. This all seems to have started with a recent Windows 11 update, where Microsoft changed it so Onedrive became a default for everything.
Again, apologies if everyone already knows this, but I believe there will be some out there in programming land who are still tearing their hair out. The above will solve your problem.
