Android Question Admob slows down activity loading speed?

Hi all,

I just add an Admob banner to an activity, and I observe that the activity takes much longer time to load.
The activity is loaded when user click on a button. Without admob, the activity shows up immediately after the button is clicked. With admob, it takes 1-2sec to show up. Is it normal? Any way to speed it up? Thanks.

Are you calling AdView.LoadAd in Activity_Create?

Try to move it to Activity_Resume.

I don't see it here. Not sure why it happens on your device. You can try to add the AdView and call LoadAd with a timer that will fire a few seconds after the activity is started.

Thank Erel, I will see if the slowness is acceptable or not if not I will use a timer then.
