Hi,
Is there some example about this? or, what functions should I learn for this?
I must do an App to chat over internet (sending/receiving messages)
Also, need to parse this messages like I saw on some sms examples (filtering & parsing)

I dont think that WhatsApp is using Push Notifications!
WhatsApp regularly contacts his parent (Webserver at WhatsApp) so send new messages or vdeos or pictures. And it looks whether there are new messages or attachments at the "server". If yes, they are downloaded.

I would say its more a long-polling than a push notification...

Check this link. It's for Windows phones but it works the same for Android:

Constant polling would have a bad effect on the battery.
