AVD cannot be launched on a Win 7 (home premium) tablet

Hello! I have both Acer Iconia W500 (win 7) and A100 (Android 3.2). I would like to develop B4A apps on the former.
I installed: Java SDK 6 update 26, Android SDK (rev 15) and B4A.
Android SDK was installed in C:\android\android-sdk (packages are listed in the attachment).
Then I created and launched an AVD. A DDMS error message (see attachment) occurred during the sequence of pop-ups. However, after a while on the AVD screen appears an animated word (Android). I waited long time but nothing else happened.

I checked that with the same procedure, the installation is OK on a Windows Vista laptop (here Android SDK is installed in C:\Android).

Finally, I want just to point out that on the tablet I have about 7 GB of free space on C: drive.

Grateful if someone could help.

I've just changed computer to a Windows 7 Home Premium machine as my old one was freezing on the memory check on boot-up so I took that as a bad omen!

I copied my old Android SDK and Eclipse folders to this new machine and made a new AVD as the old ones are not stored under either of these folders so I lost those. I got an error, possibly the same as yours, on the first run of an AVD which seemed to hang. I stopped and restarted it and it worked after that. Note that first run of a new AVD takes ages to start, it is faster subsequently.

Ever since the update of the SDK to Rev15 I've found the AVD to be unstable. Not starting and crashing regularly. I have been using a device in preference. Just hoping the next release is better.

I've re-installed it twice with no improvement.

Using Win XP SP 3.

Thanks to everybody for sharing your know-how. I made the decision to going on with Windows Vista laptop and check in future if Android SDK new releases will work properly.

I've just updated the SDK to Rev16, some of the AVD's that didn't work under Rev15 are now working again. Win XP SP3.

Hopefully you find the same.
