NJDude Expert Licensed User Longtime User Sep 23, 2017 #1 Just to let you know, if you upgrade to Java 9 B4A will display the following error during compilation: Don't panic, if you still have Java 8 installed just use it until this is corrected.

aardsoft Member Licensed User Longtime User Nov 17, 2017 #3 OK but what if you have had to remove the old Java version, as I had to to comply with my Banks security? When I try to use B4A Bridge I get the above '1.5 no longer supported.' I do not have the option to install an earlier version of Java. Is there a tme-frame for thos to be fixed?.

Click to expand... I guess you can install Java 8 JDK along with Java 9 JRE ? They are probably two separate downloads allowed

Erel B4X founder Staff member Licensed User Longtime User Nov 19, 2017 #7 The next version of B4A will support Java 9. However Android SDK itself (at least the last time I checked) had issues with Java 9 so Java 8 is recommended for now. Java 8 is not less secure than Java 9. It will receive public updates until September 2018: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/eol-135779.html
