i read this but not everything is clear to me what i need to add to manifest and what i need to do to make my app available in the android tv google play app, has anyone already published any app for android tv?

From memory you just need to add leanback support.
You need to have a banner picture, Its all explained in @NJDude 's comment here.

Maybe it's possible to download an app from the android tv play store that was made by someone else (because it already passed all the android tv play store requirements), then rename the APK to ZIP and take a look at it's manifest file.
