That would count me out. It's one of the countries I won't visit, I've got way too many Palestinian friends for that.

I've been there a decade ago, nice country the only thing I hated was the interrogations and luggage checking at the airport (twice).

Had to explain what I was going to do there, who I knew there, where I would stay and even had to explain what every sticker was about on my case and silly stuff like that. They even erased the photos on my digital camera.

At that moment I was very annoyed but it's for everyone's sake ofcourse.

Got an escorte from a pretty security lady tho as I otherwise would've missed my flight :)

Israel is a very good idea, if Erel is OK to organize that. And Right, it's the place of B4A-I-J.

I thought the first conference normally must be there.. Subsequent conferences can be anywhere.. I hope the idea is realized.. The news that Anywhere Software is organizing International conference itself would boost b4x and definitely we will benefit from the final outcome.

This is a very good and timely thread.

Ok Guys,
we should now go to the next phase: we have a clear vote of 86% :p of the B4X users to organize the FIRST meeting. There are some locations which are mentioned and are interesting, but I agree to Beja, that Israel would be the first and only one for the first meeting (the next could be in Paris, as it is the center of the the community-map). So to organize the meeting should not be the thing of Erel. He is in business with b4a 6, b4w, b4blackberry and so on. And this wll be the most difficult part at the moment. To get some people who will be the organisation team. My idea is, to embedd a user conference in an other event taken place in Israel. Any ideas are welcome...

cheers
stefan...after some kilometers of running and two beers later:D

Maybe we should develop a virtual workshop like channel 9 on MSDN. I think maybe if there was a list of hot topics people were interested in, other could share their knowledge on such topics via video demo, just a thought.

The main issue which such ideas is, despite it to be very interesting but very time consuming too.

If we want to promote b4x, couldn't we agree to insert a splashscreen like the one Unity inserts in any of our apps ? But for that we should all agree to be promoters.

Maybe a powered by B4X logo on our own company logo/splash screens.

Hence the "powered by B4A sticker".... That seems to have not sticked

Do you guys know that you can use Google Hangout with up to 100 user in a group chat at any one time, that could be a good solutions...
Do you know that the B4A chat room can hold more than that...and still only the "regulars" log in all the time.

Did you know that there no live video in the chat room, it would be nice to see who you were chatting to ;). Is there every more than 100 users in the chat room at any one time?

I've logged into the chat room a few times, I just enjoy reading peoples conversations I don't have much to say on there really. I personally have group chats on Hangouts with G+ users on the community that I setup for photographers with the same camera that I have. I enjoys macro photography and using hangout is nice because you can see the people who you are interacting with.

My comments was just for user that might not have the cash to fly around the world, even cheap B&B (Bead and Breakfast) in London are not really that cheap. Plus there's a better chance of getting a big group of user together online via Hangouts than flying to a country for a meetup. I'm sure that most users on here have Google email addresses so a group hangout session is simple and easy to use. Some users have webcams, tablets or phones, so it should not be too much of a problem to setup.

Stuff like this has been discussed many times before here (or on the chat, cant remember).
There were many chats organized, even Erel answered many questions (on a Sunday!). If people arent coming to a basic text chat by clicking on a simple URL, I doubt they will come in a video hangouts. I think the maximum users we had were 20 or around that number.
If people are really interested they need to prove it by taking the first step and coming to the chat rather than directly jumping to a conference (of like 3 people!)
Reminds me of a reddit thread where a guy organized a meetup for the whole sub, and nobody came. He just posted a lonely photo back.

Well, at the B4A chat anything goes, and for your information there are a few users into photography, and good ones, you can chat about B4A, life, money, deep thoughts or utterly nonsense which is the preferred topic most of the time, it is fun, you should stop by more often.

By the way, the chat is also a good place to take a nap :D.

This is very interesting. Maybe we need to categorize members, Business, Hobbyist etc. I don't know how many members are full time developers and use B4x products for purely commercial reasons. My company uses the following, vb6, vs2013, b4A, B4J, B4i, MicroBasic (firmware). It would be great if I could find others who do this fulltime and share knowledge and experience. We have recently begun Wp8.1 development and I would be more than happy to share my experiences as other did when we begun Android development, example being - What is an intent ?

Maybe this will get some traction and we can build up the commercial side of B4x, what do think @Erel

Regards

John.

the chat has been promoted several times and some are attracted to it from the moment they start using B4x.

it's always good to have different oppinions or solutions on things you want to do, if you stick to one person you don't have that.

if you don't like it you can still user the forum private message system to swap email addresses or other methods.
