Android Question B4A Bridge Connecting to an IP address

Hi, I have a Tenda Nova Mesh wifi network, and normally the LAN settings in the Tenda app are set to 192.168.1.50 but for some weird interference from the IP Gods, it keeps setting the Lan Settings to 192.168.2.50 making it impossible for B4A Bridge to connect to my phone.

Is there any other mechanism available for me to connect to this IP address

I don't totally understand what you mean, what is you network topology? is 192.168.1.50 a static IP of the node you set? somtimes or always the IP is changed to 192.168.2.50 ? I think it should be a network configuration issue, causing nodes to be unable to communicate with each other.

Not sure I understand anything to do with networks, In my router the Nova (Tenda) is set to 192.168.1.120 and is an extension of my WiFi, I can connect to my WiFi from wherever in my home, but trying to use B4A Bridge is impossible. the Tenda App states the LAN settings are 192.168.2.129 (tried to change it to 192.168.1.1209, but it is changing it back to 192.168.2.129), so because my B4A is running on my PC, which as an IP address of 192.168.1.207 it cannot connect to the IP shown in B4A Bridge of 192.168.2.129

I keep trying to change the setting Tenda, and funnily enough just now it's saved the new IP of 192.168.1.129 and B4A Bridge is now showing an IP of 192.168.1.110 and I can connect with B4A.

No doubt it will change again tomorrow or the next time I try to connect with B4A Bridge, very frustrating, especially when I haven't got a clue whats happening

How's the pub business doing, I still have to visit yours as you are not really that far away from ourselves.

Anyway, nope, I have never ever had that issue with my Tenda MW6 mesh setup, and sometimes we have well in excess of 20+ devices connected to it (average about 15). I also have a 4 node TP-Link Deco setup here too, which does perform better but is my backup solution (currently turned off).

I setup our 4 node Tenda MW6 mesh solution in l2018 and it's never missed a beat, well not as you describe it anyway, once in a blue moon a node turns red, I just have to reboot it.. The LAN ip address has never ever changed, not even once, even though it is set to reboot itself every morning at 04:00. It works 100% perfect with B4A-Bridge, it always has done. B4A-Bridge connected to it and just works from the start of the day to the end of the day without any connection issues.

Hi, Sorry you missed your chance at visiting the pub, been closed over two years now two Houses As to the Tenda, when it works it works brilliant, as it does for WiFi Connections from all my devices, the only problem I have it sometimes and more frequently than not, it sets the LAN setting to 192.168.2.??? and B4A bridge only works on 192.168.1.???, and it takes many, many attempts to reset it and get it to save in the config. Working for now but would love to have a solution where it stays at 192.168.1.???, tried Tenda support which is does exist but they never answer other than robotic AI which offers no solution, thanks for replying

The answer is no, can the subnets 191.168.1 and 192.168.2 communicate with each other? B4A IDE can only automatically discover the b4a-bridge in the same subnet, if you want connect to the b4a-bridge in subnet 192.,168.2, you may specify a newip for the b4a-bridge by menu Tools

We drove past the pub about 4 years ago on our way to a hotel.

Sorry, I'm probably reading this wrong, but B4A works on any IP address range on basically subnet mask.

I take it that you have your Tenda Mesh setup in Bridge mode and not Static or Dynamic modes???

Neither my Tenda or TP-Link mesh networks have the issue that you are experiencing. My Tenda Mesh is on 192.168.0.XXX and my TP-Link mesh is on 192.168.1.XXX (when I turn it on), B4A-Bridge works flawlessly with absolutely no issues whatsoever.

You could always try comparing my setting to your own, that's why I did the screenshots above for you to look at.

Hi Peter, thanks for the info, I think you may have hit the nail on its head I was using Dynamic mode, I've now changed it to bridge and I no longer get the Lan Settings option and my B4A Bridge is working as I would expect, hopefully problem resolved, thanks again
