Hi Erel, please check below web site for the midi HW setup for Arduino, it's very simply, but I want my HW more clean and don't want too much wiring so I purchase the arduino midi shield from the online store.

If connect to midi device like midi keyboard, just need a midi cable. But for iPad, I need a usb midi interface and a camera kit.

BTW, Apple (GarageBand) support MIDI over bluetooth, I'm wondering maybe I can just use a ESP32 connect to iPad by BLE without any HW.... My ESP32 already arrived, hope I can have some more spare time checking the web to see whether it's possible in that way.
