Best Practices - Themes

What would you say are the best practices for supporting different Android platforms and themes? For example, my UI looks great in stock and Sense 5, but in Sense <5 and Touchwiz the colors don't look nice with the themed buttons.

You can stick to the default colors and drawables so your layout will look standard on any platform.

Another approach is to use custom colors and drawables and not rely on the system default style.
