Android Question Bluetooth Audio

I want to send short audio clips to a Bluetooth audio device (a device has audio out to speakers). I can put the clip in any format to make it easier.

I started with the Walkie Talkie sample and figured I'd mod it to what I need but I can't connect. Each time I get IOexception...might be closed or timeout error.

I tried with my Note 2 to a nexis 7 then each one with an earpiece all with the same error. I can manually connect and play music with the note 2 or the Nexis 7 but not on the B4A program.

Is this a permission issue with the phone?
Is this not possible?

I've read every post about Bluetooth and I don't know where to go next

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I guess that the audio device is not based on the SPP (serial port) profile. This means that you cannot communicate with it this way. Only the OS can communicate with it.

Okay thanks I'll check on that. But what happens when a podcast player plays to the device? Is it like windows, hand off to the OS and if that's the case is there any way to do that in B4A?

If you connect a headset for example then the audio routing is handled by the OS. The audio will be routed to the headset automatically.
