Hi,

it looks like this forum filters brackets???

If I use an open and close bracket it a string it says it is a URL ????

Actually, it seems that if I start a new thread, if I enter any characters such as &, !, (, ) etc, the post is rejected, but If I post a plain text post it is fine, and I can then edit it???? What is going on???

In the last couple of months the forum was hit by many spammers. Currently the forum is configured to reject posts that contain Urls or words such as: buy, sell, cheap...

This restriction is only applied to unlicensed users.

hmmmm, well all its doing is rejecting every reply or thread I try to post.

Currently I am having to reply with a letter a, and then edit my post which is completely unrestricted???

Thanks for your reply, do you know if there is an easy way to check if the android device is online? If so, what I could do is every x minutes check if online and then sync the data?

I am also wondering if I could extract the data from the SQL server using asp or asp.net webpage and then create a local database on the fly to store the information? This would then prevent me having to set up each device individually as a replication subscriber?

Why not just use an image verification for unlicensed users?

Because in many cases the spammers are actually humans. Not automatic bots.

I am pretty sure that if I found out in 30 seconds of trying to post my first post, they would have too
