Android Question Click already possible while activity is still animating

Hello,

I'm opening a new Activity with a zoom animation. It takes a while before the activity shows up (zooms in), because there are a lot of initializations to be done on that new activity.

During that small waiting time, the (initially invisible) buttons on the new activity already seem to be clickable, although they are not yet visible due to the animation.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before?

Yes.

I think there's an example somewhere which handles this, I'll try and see if I can find it..

ProgressDialogShow or ProgressDialogShow2 should do the trick I think.

Alternatively you could place a clear panel over your buttons and allow that to consume the click events instead...

An example, anyone? This doesn't seem to work because when you use an animation to switch between activities, there is no end-animation function...

You can add a transparent panel and handle its click event. Use a timer to remove the panel after the animation duration (or an approximate duration).
