Default app for certain FileTypes

Hey,

Anyone know how I can make my app the default for opening a certain filetype and how I would then know the filename and location of the file that has opened my app.

Currently you cannot get the Intent that started your application, so you will not be able to get the filename and location. I believe that this will be added in the next update.

What about making the app default? How do you do that? How do you tell the system "Hey, I can open pictures and URLs" ?

It is now possible using Activity.GetStartingIntent.

You will need to add an IntentFilter declaration in the manifest file. It is not so simple. You can read more about it here: Intents and Intent Filters | Android Developers
