iOS Question Distrubiting to appstore via mac

Hello,

I get the mac of my friend and logged in to my account. There are 2 ways to upload the builds. one is using xcode and another one is application loader. Which one is suitable and what is the steps for it afterwards can anyone describe shortly please ?
