follow up / add on....

could this have to do with initializing the components ON the panel?

It is hard to say without seeing the code. The problem is with an uninitialized Panel. Not something else.

what i've tried....

it is panel1 so i have put Panel1.initialize("") alternately and even at the same time in global activity and local subs where i get the error.... is there something wrong with "Panel1.Initialize("") ??

dumb mistake!!!

but you already suspected as much..... initializing wrong panel due to copied code..... sorry
