Getting files from PC

Hello,
With many of the apps I create using B4A the user can customize the app by creating their own files and transferring those files to the app directory. The files might be a text file list of words or contacts, or an icon image.

For most end-users transferring a file from their computer to an Android directory is well beyond their ability – I frequently get support questions like "How do I transfer a file?"

Is there a simple way to build file transfer into the app using B4A?

I envision something like having a "Locate" button that will open a file explorer type window to their computer (PC, Mac, Linux, ...) allowing them to navigate to the file. Click open, and my software will transfer the file to my app's directory.

Anything like that?

Thanks,
Barry.

Well you probably have to write a windows application (depending on your users) that can create the samba share for them and do the transfer from there.
If they cant get the data onto the device, how will they know how to make a samba share!

I've created my own custom type of server for windows. User selects the files to be sent (mainly it is a database edited on PC and then sent to Android). The drawback is that I am using WIFI for the two devices to connect. I am sure I saw a usb lib around here, which probably could help, but I just can't find right now a relative post.
