Getting result (here a image) from intent?

Hallo everybody,

first please excuse my bad english

In the Forum i found an Code-Snippet

Dim i As Intent
i.Initialize(i.ACTION_PICK, "")
i.SetType("image/*")
StartActivity(i)

which pops up an intent to select an image from the Gallery (and from some other places) like in Whatsapp when you select an Attachment for an Chatsession. Thats really nice and i want to use this "Feature" in my app.

But:

How can i get rid of the selected Image (path and name of Imagefile) to use the image then in my App? Maybe for sending it as Attachment in an email oder uploading this image to our server or or or...

How do i get the selected image?
