Share My Creation GGH Mapviewer

GGH Mapviewer is a Geographic Information System (GIS) based on the Google Maps library. The main task is to display results from geophysical investigations which we make on archaeological sites. The geophysical data (geomagnetic, georadar and electrical resistivity tomography) was proccessed with ArcGIS an then exported as an image with worldfile. The big advantage of the GGH Mapviewer is, that we have all our data within the fieldwork, which it makes very easy to plan the next steps. Also our customers - mainly archaeologists - love to walk around on their site with our results and see were they are. The GGH Mapviewer has the following functions:
  • Load overlay (JPEG with Worldfile), load from ftp
  • Measure area, distance
  • Digitize polygon, polyline, points into spatialite DB
  • tableview of of all shapes (zoomto, delete..)
Below their are some screenshots and some pictures of my fieldwork this year at Gordion (Turkey) and Cosa (Italy). More information about GGH you will find here: http://en.ggh-online.de
