I am Zigma and I am a student at Devry.
I am currently going to school to get my computer engineering bachelor degree. I will also be the first person ever on my campus to develop a smartphone app for there senior project. The reason I use the word smart phone is cause my group will make a I-Phone, Windows 8 phone, and Android app.
It my job to develop the Android one since I am the one with the android phone. What is the app?
I am building a app that will work like a remote control for your TV and other IR controlled devices.
The app will use the USB IR Toy 2 from
USB Infrared Toy - DP
I will connect the device with a OTG cable to my Samsung GALAXY Note2.
Unlike other remote apps, my app will have a wizard and hack function. The wizard will allow the app to read any IR signal from any current remote you own, and build you your own custom remote on the phone with the data. It will also use a SQLlite database, so you can save and use multiple remotes. The hack feature will do it best to send out every known signal it can to try and control any unknown IR device.
I am a good C++ programmer, but not so good at java. I hope with the android4basic membership and app, I can create this app. When I am done I will share all the code with everyone on this site only. You all will then get to use any code I post freely and do with as you wish.
