Help Unable to install apk on other device

Hi,

I have completed my SQL project with 3 activities and also a DButils module. A sql database file(of about 2mb) is also attached. I am able to install the apk on my asus prime, but when I distribute the apk to other (galaxy s2) they got this msg:

"The application package installer(process com.android.packageinstaller) has stop unexpectedly. Please try again"

Other project generated from my B4a like myfrist.apk are able to install on other device.

It could be anything, how do you provide your SQL database? Are you using the Files utilities? Are you moving the database from DIR_ASSETS to DIR_INTERNAL/DIR_EXTERNAL so you can use it?

You should check the unfiltered logs and find the error message.
Note that in the next version the error will appear in the filtered logs.

I am attaching the data file in Tab and also in the Files dir. Also using this code

Dim DBFileDir As String BFileDir=File.DirRootExternal


Erel, the problem is not with my device and when developing in B4a using B4a bridge. Its when the apk is given to others for installation, they don't have filtered log on any Android device do they?

I haven't read your first post correctly. Now I see that it is the Android installer that crashes.

The first thing to try is to reboot the device and install your application again.

When you said reboot , do you mean
1. Power off your android or
2. Hard reset or
3. Soft reset
4. With reboot software

I meant a standard reboot. Power off and the on.

Hi Erel,

The reboot doesn't work. I have attached to simple SQL APP and one of them fail to install on GalaxyS2.

PJSQLsample.zip , fail to install in S2 but ok on Prime and Galaxy Note.
SQLsample.zip , install successfully on all device.

The only diff is changing the data base ext to .jpg. However, when I change the PJSQLsample database to .db it also fail to install.

What can I do, as S2 in a very popular phone for most users!

There is a known issue in Android with large files that are included in the APK file. However this is a different issue here.

Can you upload the APK that fails during installation? Maybe someone else with S2 can test it.

Attached is the apk of only 350kb and data file of only 9kb that fail to install on all GalaxyS2 but ok on other device.

Any S2 owner please help, or anyone knows what happen?:sign0163:

I found the problem.

Your icon is a bit too large

It crashed Astro file explorer when it tried to create a thumbnail. I'm pretty sure that this also causes the installation issue.
