Hi Erel,

Thanks so much for the icon viewer. Works great with and without magnification. Now, by knowlegde of the icon position in a compliled B4PPC exe, it should be possible to display a program icon by retrieving it from its .exe file.

Provided the structure is the same (I don't know though), adjustment of the binary reader position could do the trick(?)

The format should be the same.
You will have to find some information about executables format.
The icons (one or more) are stored as resources.

Only just found this thread hidden in the depths!

Now that you've all had the fun of trying it for yourselves, can I point out that the freebie, IcoFX does a marvellous job for me, everything I want and more besides. Sadly, with Windows 7 it can no longer read 16 bit .icl files, but that will come eventually according to the author.
