ICS Navigation Bar Control - Question

A few months ago, Margret posted a new class for controling the visibility of the navigation bar (i.e., soft keys). This worked very good for hiding the soft keys. But after the soft keys are hidden, is there a way to allow the activity to use this area? I'm not interested in placing views or controls here, just have the activity background expand to the bottom of the screen.

On my device, if I am on the Home screen and hide the soft keys, the wallpaper expands (or perhaps the screen is scaled, since the icons on the Home screen also shift downward) to fill the entire screen.

I dont' think so..

As far as I know, there is no way to use that area, unless Android Version is customised.

I wished for that too

I've played with one of the new Samsung tablets, and the ICS Nav bar went away in some situations..but always while in the OS screens...as soon as an ap starts..puf..the nav bar cames back.

So as far as I know...we have to live with it.
