The GitHub API is here: GitHub API v3 Note that any private code held on GitHub will require a monthly payment (currently $7), whereas public code is freely hosted(thus possibly putting GitHub beyond the reach of some). CloudForge offers free hosting (up to 2 GB), including Private repositories, and supports SVN and Git. Subversion and Git Hosting | Bug and Issue tracking | CloudForge Git is available for free if you want to host it (check the conditions) yourself.
