I liked the stylus, the objects, buttons and others, for the user interface could be much smaller leaving more space for the concrete data.

I agree with Klaus, I wrote a lot of software for the Pocket PC and it was definitely easier to navigate programs with small buttons and such. The only downside was that it was altogether too easy to lose the stylus, so I ended up buying 25 at a time...I still have some if anyone is interested - give you a heck of a deal!!

Amazing that this was only 11 years ago.

I have similar stories. I used to develop mobile apps for Pocket PC back then and in fact forced myself to learn C++ as pre-visual studio Embedded VB was terrible.

I also started down the road of learning eclipse until I found B4A. Never looked back, although nowadays I develop more web apps than anything.

I've recently started collecting old PDAs off eBay as I love the old tech - especially handheld PCs. What amazes me is how small the screens are on Pocket PC compared to modern devices!

Hi I still thank Erel almost daily in my mind for having found B4J as it has unshackled me from vb6 vb programs are becoming more buggy when trying to install on newer windows 10. I changed over to B4J and never looked back.

Yes it does make you wonder who was in charge of Microsoft at that time.
Everyone will have a computer in their pocket, lets just ditch our operating system for them ??????
The mind boggles.

For me B4J has been a life saver. Developing backend servers and threading has been a game changer for our company. We ditched MS development tools and only use them for maintenace with our legacy app, which are all going through the b4J conversion procress. B4X is truly an amazing development environment, and the best community I have ever been a member of.
