Without the system images provided by Amazon, you cannot emulate a Kindle Fire. The first thing to do is to get these images. Go in the SDK Manager, in Add-on sites, then User defined sites, and add "http://kindle-sdk.s3.amazonaws.com/addon.xml". Refresh your SDK manager to get the new entries. Select the various Kindle images that you need and load them. You will see new device definitions in the AVD manager.
