Can KIOSK Mode be added via Basic4Android to prevent users from exiting the application or doing something that prevents proper functionality of the given application?

Hey Erel,
Hate to bring up an old topic - but this is of interest to me as I've been informed that one of our partners is working on an android device - so I'm beginning to do research into Android.

A kiosk mode obviously came up as a necessary requirement (the clients we work with would be giving these to users in their organization and they won't want the users breaking out of whatever app is supplied - that'd be a big no-no...)

So I started doing a bit of research myself and have more questions than anything else that maybe are worth looking into ( as soon as I have a device in hand - I'll be purchasing a B4A license myself ).

I don't know if you saw this thread: Android - Is It possible to disable the click of home button - Stack Overflow

But I'm wondering if there isn't a way to, if not block the home button, change its functionality or maybe a an option when compiling your program to force it into a mode where the home button redirects itself to your current app.

I'm guessing the 'toddler lock' sort of apps are handling this someway (and our partner may come up with a solution) - but I'm sure this would be of value to future purchasers of B4A for business solutions.

Just a thought. If I'm wrong - please don't make me look too stupid ;)

I, too, am very interested in this capability. I did find an app "Toddler Lock" that appears to capture (or misdirect) all the available key functions.

Does anyone know "his" technology for doing this ? Are there any holes in it ?

Cheers,

Gary M
