One thing that prevents me from constantly updating some applications is the size, especially apps from 50mb and up. And am sure we most at times look at download size, unless you have automatic download turned on when on wifi, etc.
I have this application with APK size of 12mb. And anytime you update, users have to redownload the 12mb file. I know 12mb is small.
Here is what I noticed after switching to app bundle(aab). When I first uploaded the app bundle (which is still 12mb) and I went to play store to update, the size I saw was 5.4mb.
Just yesterday, I made another update and uploaded 12mb aab file, but when the update notification came, I saw 1.2mb as the update to be downloaded for the new version.
So in all, I think app bundle will in a way increase/improve app downloads.
