Well I left coding a few years ago, and I remember that the lack of this feature was holding me from conitune developing a nice little project.

my question is related to the Google ML Vision , related is the manfred's work :

Can someone suggest a good working solution for scanning foreign languages properly? (hebrew,arabic,chineese,etc)

nothing has changed for us since your last visit. which is to say, there are no
on device ocr solutions for us that can recognize the character sets you mention.

the latest api (ml kit) from google offers chinese character recognition (currently beta) in addition
to latin characters, but no hebrew, arabic, etc.

google still has its REST cloud service which apparently recognizes many character sets, but your app would
have to be online to use it (plus it's not free) . you might find the occasional, free, dedicated online service specializing
in non-latin character sets (free until it builds its database, that is).
