I'm reading this post by Informatix.

I do not know the legal terms, especially in English; my question is:

how they protect their software? I do not mean from crackers, but i'm talking about some copyright.

In this case we (they) are talking about a minimal part of code, a feature of a view; so it should be possible to protect a complete app.

Patent law in the United States now has changed.. if I saw your code and patented it then nothing can help you even if you proved you were the first to write it or conceive it.. now the law protects first-to-file not first-to-invent..
For software you need to submit the first 50 lines of your code.
