Preview Thumbnail of PDF

I would like to know if anyone knows a way to preview the first page of a pdf (a bit like kindle does with ebooks) in a thumbnail. Or if anyone can guide me on how to do it (assuming I have a pdf reader within the device of course).
Essentially I would like to show them in a list of thumbnails.

You cannot embed another application in your application. So even if there is a PDF reader, you will not be able to use it to show a thumbnail (unless it provides a conversion service).
