In Bologna, Italy, they had such a system for some years now.
Look for a firm named Trevipark to learn where and how they deployed similar parking solutions.

Anyway a good idea whose drawback could be waiting time to drop off or pick up your car at peak time.

reminds me of these Smart towers that were next to the Smart shops. a lot of mini cars on a few square meters.

China, it was probably built relatively cheaply and completed in 2 months flat
Over here in the UK it would be completed way over budget and definitely not on time...
