Android Question Record & Play Back Volume Control

Hi All

I am using the voice recording example to record a wave file, convert it into an mp3 file and then play it back. All is working fine except for the fact that the play back sound is not loud enough ( even by setting the media player volume to (1,1) )

Obviously the louder I speak in the microphone the louder the play back is, but even at the loudest it is nowhere close to the sound that I get from the device during navigation.
I am wondering if there is a solution for this without forcing the user speak very loud all the time during recording. Perhaps there is a way to adjust the microphone sensitivity,or amplify the data in the wave file (or the mp3).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

This would usually be dealt with by 'Normalizing' the audio files (making the audio in the file as loud as possible without introducing distortion), there does not appear to be a library available that does audio normalization.

Thanks Stevel,
It will definitely be something nice to have for any walkie-talkie like apps.
