Send and receive encrypted File from InternetServer

I like to share bitmap and Audio files with other Users.
Is there a way to Send and receive an encrypted file from my InternetServer.
Is it possible with https, ssh or sql (BLOB)?
And what is the fastest way to see, that the server has new Data for me.


Now:
With ftp it works, but I only can send the password in clear text.
And I download every second a check text file if there is an update.
It's not useable for comercial use.:sign0104:

You should use Https.
You can also use FTP over SSL. I don't think that the password is sent in clear text (though you should check it).
