    Hi all,

I want to send some data (e. g. 4 bytes) from one device (A) simultaneously to multiple devices (B, C, D ...) per WiFiDirect (without router). The data transfer direction is only from device A to B, C, D ...

B, C, D ... should only listen for the data from A. These devices don't need to answer.

Is this possible by WiFiDirect? If yes, is there an example?

    Thanks
    Lutz

WifiDirect library only supports a connection between two devices.

You can create a hotspot on one of the devices and then use it instead of wifi direct.

Is it possible to create a hotspot and use the same device as server or client?

I tried it myself: Yes it's possible.

    1. Device A: I turned on Hotspot "Free Wifi"
    2. Device B: I set WLAN to "Free Wifi"
    3. Device A: I started my server app. It show me the actual IP = 192.168.43.1 (without Hotspot it was 192.168.1.7)
    4. Device B. I started my client app with IP = 192.168.43.1

Server app and client app show "connected".
