dialog.Initialize(B4XPages.GetPage("mainpage"))<------ NO ERROR

You need to pass a view not a B4XPage.

Tip: never use GetPage("mainpage"). Use: B4XPages.MainPage.

You can do:

dialog.Initialize(B4XPages.MainPage.Root) 'make sure that Root is public
